About the Project

SCDOT proposes to replace the bridge along S-106 (Clearmont Road) over Colonels Fork Creek in Oconee County, South Carolina. The existing bridge is structurally deficient and is in need of replacement.

It is anticipated that the proposed bridge will be constructed on or near existing alignment, currently SCDOT is analyzing to determine if this will be constructed off alignment or through the use of a close and detour as part of the NEPA process.

Purpose and Need

The purpose of this project is to replace the aging S-106 (Clearmont Road) bridge which was built in 1975. SCDOT continues to increase its emphasis on reducing the number of structurally deficient bridges across the state.
