Columbia, S.C. (February 21, 2025)— The South Carolina Department of Transportation will close and detour part of I-26 East and part of College Park Road in Charleston County for nighttime bridge repairs. These repairs are a result of the College Park bridge being struck during a crash on February 6.
The work will take place during the nights of Saturday, February 22, and Sunday, February 23 beginning at 8 p.m. and ending at 9 a.m.
The left lanes of I-26 Eastbound will be closed leading up to Exit 203. Drivers will take exit 203 in order to re-enter I-26 Eastbound. In addition, the Northbound lanes of College Park Road will be closed leading up to the bridge and the College Park Road bridge itself will be closed.
As part of this closure, a detour route will be set up. SCDOT asks drivers to follow detour signs or seek alternate routes and expect delays.
