Columbia, S.C. (February 14, 2024) - SCDOT will hold a drop-in style public involvement meeting on Thursday, February 29, regarding proposed safety improvements along the US 17 Corridor between Conway Street and 20th Avenue South in Horry County.
The drop-in style meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024. It will take place at North Myrtle Beach Government Office (Atrium) located at 1018 2nd Avenue South in North Myrtle Beach. SCDOT representatives will be available at the meeting to discuss the proposed project with members of the community.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation proposes to reduce the frequency and severity of crashes along the corridor. The proposed project includes installation of concrete medians, ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps, crosswalks, countdown pedestrian signals, signal equipment and intersection operation upgrades, and installation of new sidewalks.
