(February 1, 2024) - SCDOT will hold a public involvement meeting on Thursday, February 15, 2024 regarding the proposed bridge replacement project at SC-9 Business (Cheraw Street) over Crooked Creek in Marlboro County.
The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024. The meeting will take place at Bennettsville Community Center located at 714 N. Marlboro Street in Bennettsville. SCDOT representatives will be available at the meeting to discuss the proposed project with members of the community.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation proposes to replace the existing structurally deficient bridge along SC-9 Business (Cheraw Street) over Crooked Creek in Marlboro County. The proposed project includes replacing the existing bridge structure and improving the roadway approaches to meet current design criteria. The new bridge will accommodate four 12-foot travel lanes, curb and gutter on approaches, and a 5-foot sidewalk on each side.
