The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will hold a Public Information Meeting for a proposed bridge replacement in Spartanburg County, S-93 (Sulphur Springs Rd) over McElwain Creek. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021 from 5 pm-7 pm at the Jonesville Town Hall at 131 N Main St, Jonesville SC 29353. SCDOT staff will be available at the meeting to discuss the concept design and project details, and members of the public will have an opportunity to provide written comments.
It is proposed that the bridge will be replaced on existing alignment and traffic will be detoured during construction. More information can be found on the project website scdotgis.online/s93bridge. Comments can be made at the public information meeting, on the project website, by emailing the SCDOT Project Manager, Warren Hart at HartWD@scdot.org, or by mailing a letter to Warren Hart at SCDOT, 955 Park Street, PO Box 191, Columbia, SC 29201. Comments will be accepted through December 22nd, 2021.
This project is part of SCDOT’s Strategic 10-Year Plan that is focused on four programs, including bridge replacements, that will improve South Carolina’s roads after more than 30 years of deferred maintenance due to a lack of funding. SCDOT will replace or reinforce more than 465 structurally deficient bridges across the state by 2027.
