Closure of I-77 South On-Ramps from Percival Road (SC 12) - Richland County

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will temporarily close both on-ramps from SC 12 (Percival Road) to I-77 South in Richland County.  This closure, along with a signed detour, is expected to be installed from 8:00 PM on Friday, August 20 th , to 5:00 AM Monday, August 23 rd .

This closure is in conjunction with a currently active intersection improvement on Percival Road at E Boundary Road and the I-77 South off-ramp and on-ramps and is necessary to complete resurfacing of the (2) on-ramps to I-77 South at this interchange.  With the closure in place, SCDOT and its contractor will more efficiently be able to complete resurfacing of the ramps while also eliminating potential safety concerns to the traveling public.

Traffic traveling SC 12 (Percival Road) eastbound will be detoured onto I-77 Northbound, and then will be routed onto I-20 Eastbound via Exit 16. This traffic will then keep right at the fork towards I-77 Northbound (Charlotte/Alpine Road). At the intersection, traffic will be directed to turn left onto northbound Alpine Road, and then turn left again onto the joint I-20 Westbound/I-77 Northbound and Southbound on-ramp.

Westbound traffic along SC 12 will be directed to continue on to the intersection of SC 12 (Percival Road) at Decker Boulevard where there is access to an I-77 southbound on-ramp.

For more information concerning this project and closure, please contact SCDOT's Lexington "A" Construction office at 803-796-9540.

Drivers traveling through the work zone are asked to be aware of equipment and crews working adjacent to traffic at all times. "Let 'em Work. Let 'em Live."

Motorists can use SCDOT's 511 Traveler system ( http://www.511sc.org/ ) for updates to help make travel decisions.
