Tony K. Cox, of Horry County, was sworn in for a second term on the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Commission on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.
Cox, a Commissioner representing the 7th Congressional District, joined the SCDOT Commission in 2017. He has served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Commission.
He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B. A. degree in public administration/real estate and completed the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Advanced Management Development Program.
Cox is a real estate professional with over 36 years of experience. He currently serves as the executive vice president at Burroughs and Chapin Co., Inc. in Myrtle Beach.
He is past chairman of the South Carolina Real Estate Commission and has held leadership roles as chairman of the membership committee of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and as a former chairman of the Horry County Planning Commission.
