Closings Expected for Upcoming Weekend on Gateway Project

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is announcing that I-385 Southbound and I-385 Northbound from approximately Roper Mountain Road to Woodruff Road in Greenville County will be closed (weather permitting) this coming Friday night through Sunday evening.

This closure is needed to allow construction adjustments to the I-385 over I-85 bridge as we continue to address our state's infrastructure needs with our strategic 10-Year Plan.

SCDOT is diligently working to improve, resurface, and rebuild our state's roads and highways. This includes the I-85/385 Gateway Project, which is part of our Interstate Improvement program.

I-385 Southbound (SB) and I-385 Northbound (NB) will be closed to through traffic between Friday, August 14, at 9 p.m. and Sunday, August 16, at 8 p.m.

Drivers wanting to continue on I-385 SB will be detoured to Exit 35 (I-385 SB to Woodruff Road) and will follow signs to I-385 SB.

Drivers wanting to continue on I-385 NB will be detoured to the I-385 NB collector-distributor and then to Exit 36A (I-385 NBCD to I-85 NB).

From there, drivers will continue along I-85 NB to Exit 56 (Highway 14) where they will follow signs to I-85 SB towards Greenville. Drivers can then take Exit 51C (I-85 SBCD to I-385 NB) to I-385 NB.

Drivers are asked to obey speed limits, follow all traffic control, and be mindful of workers in the construction area.
