Purpose:
Highway safety is one of the elements of SCDOT’s Strategic 10-year plan using gas tax funds to improve our roads and bridges. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for citizens to review and discuss individually with representatives from SCDOT the proposed US 25 (White Horse Road) Safety Improvement Project from south of I-85 to Lily Street in Greenville County. The proposed changes are intended to improve the safety of the corridor and to meet current design standards. A concept plan is currently being developed that may include construction of a raised median, U-turn accommodations, crosswalks, and ADA improvements. Another purpose of the meeting is to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the area. Personnel representing SCDOT will be available to answer questions and discuss the project with interested citizens on an individual basis.
