I-20 OVER WATEREE AND SWAMP OVERFLOW BRIDGE REHABILITATION / REPLACEMENT PACKAGE

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) proposes to replace the existing eastbound and westbound bridges on I-20 over the Wateree River. Additionally, two pairs of overflow bridges along I-20 over Wateree Swamp will be rehabilitated which will help extend the service life. The project limits extend from the Lugoff Pond bridges to I-20 Exit 98 (US 521). The goals of the project are to reduce impacts to the traveling public by eliminating recurring bridge deck repairs, produce a durable and easily maintainable facility, and extend the service life of the existing overflow structures.
